In Memory of Arthur Spada

Arthur Spada, my uncle, established A&R Spada Farms with my father, Richard C. Spada, in 1958.  His love of farming started at a very young age and it kept him busy well into his 90s.  Uncle Art was a meticulous steward of the land.  Integrity and devotion to the quality of his work inspired many.  One of his passions was taking on major land improvement projects and overseeing the projects from the seat of his CAT D7 bulldozer or a John Deere tractor.

Uncle Art had unique foresight and wisdom, enabling the company to survive and thrive during the many economic cycles.  Through his many life experiences, he gained a limitless amount of knowledge. He was an enthusiastic conversationalist who enjoyed recounting stories of how the work was done before the modern machinery of today. People would often walk away after hearing his stories to realize he had shared with them a life lesson. He always enjoyed visiting with you, our customers, and learning more about garden centers and the nursery industry through the stories you shared.  Uncle Art was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Arthur Spada

In loving memory,

Angelo
